About the Historic East Side of Santa Fe, New Mexico

Santa Fe, New Mexico Real Estate – Remodel Vs. New Build?

The Historic East Side is you know, the oldest part of Santa Fe all along Canyon Road, because people originally built their farms along the river which runs along East Alameda and all the way down to the Rio Grande. Eventually they needed. They needed to be near the river to survive for water cause. That was the only real source of water in Santa Fe. So Santa Fe grew up around the Santa Fe River in the water coming out of the Santa Fe Canyon, and they also could use the trees to build houses, etc. So you have this oldest part historic part that’s also protected by the historic board of the city of Santa Fe. That doesn’t let people just build, sprawl, or build any old thing they want, you know, is very tight. Tightly controlled to keep the historic feel.
