One of the big benefits of living on the Historic East Side of Santa Fe is you’re also near Canyon Road, runs along the a block south of the river. Canyon Road was the main thoroughfare, then ran along, you know, parallel the river all the way, basically from the plaza area all the way up into the mountains. And so now you have all these restaurants and shops and very famous renowned art galleries on Canyon Road. So it’s become quite a destination for people visiting Santa Fe and most of the Historic East Side. You can walk, I’d say almost all of it. You just walk down to the river to Alameda or to Canyon, and you go all the way down, and you’ll end up right by the plaza.
So the plaza being sort of the heart, the traditional heart of Santa Fe, with the palace of the Governor’s, with the shops, with the restaurants, you know La Fonda Hotel.
All of that isn’t walking distance to houses on in the Historic East Side. So it’s quite a special area on Christmas Eve.
